Porsche has added a brand new Macan T to their model range. It’s the first Macan to bear the T resignation, which was previously only found on the 911 and the 718 Porsches and stands for ‘Touring’. Porsche has been using it since the 1960s. The Touring model range is meant to represent Porsche’s ability to create a great driving experience, while still ensuring comfort and efficiency. When it comes to model hierarchy, Macan T sits between the Macan and the Macan S.
The new Macan T has a dynamic chassis set-up combined with a lightweight, two-litre turbo engine with a power output of 261 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. The new engine is also lighter than the 2.9-litre V6 found in the Macan S, saving around 60kg of weight on the front axle.
The new Macan comes equipped with a seven-speed, dual-clutch Porsche PDK transmission combined with the Porsche Traction Management all-wheel-drive system to ensure maximum grip and create a responsive driving experience. When it comes to acceleration, the Macan T will not be breaking records anytime soon with 0 to 62 mph time of 6.2 seconds and a top speed of 144 mph.
When it comes to design, the T model range will feature elements painted in Agate Grey Metallic around the vehicle to help differentiate the vehicle. The vehicle will also feature a roof spoiler, sports tailpipes and side window trims in black. The Macan T will share the same 20-inch wheel design as Macan S in dark titanium, and customers will be able to choose from a range of 13 colours for the exterior.
The interior of the new Macan will come with electric heated sports seats as standard, with customers being able to spec multifunction GT sports steering wheels as an additional option. The vehicles will also come with the Porsche Communication Management system and 10.9-inch touch screen as standard.
The price of the new Porsche Macan T will start from €69,462 (around £57,950 at the time of writing) with deliveries for the German market starting in April 2022.
