Ferrari Big Five has long been the holy grail for all car collectors and consists of some of the most influential Ferrari models ever made. In a rare occurrence in the automotive world, the whole Big Five collection will be available in RM Sotheby’s upcoming Dare to Dream sale. Whilst Ferrari is one of those cars that most petrolheads would be happy to own just one of, a select few participants will be able to buy all of these legendary Ferraris in one auction.
Here is the list of the cars that will be available in the upcoming Dare to Dream sale:
1985 FERRARI 288 GTO

Starting things off is the legendary 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO. With just 272 models ever made, it’s one of the rarest collectible Ferraris, with this particular model boasting an undisclosed “former celebrity ownership” in its history and also having been professionally restored in Italy in 2019.

The 288 GTO is powered by a twin-turbo version of the 2.9 L V8 used in the 288 GTO and is capable of producing over 650 hp. The bid for this particular Ferrari is set to start at a whopping $3,750,000.
1990 FERRARI F40

The next car in the Big Five collection which will be going under the hammer is the legendary Ferrari F40. Originally evolved from the 288 GTO, this street-legal race car is regarded as the first 200-mph production car ever built, with F40’s 2.9L twin-turbo V8 generating over 471 hp and 426 lb-ft of torque.

The car being auctioned only has an astonishingly low mileage of just 998 miles complete with a Ferrari Classiche Certificate of Authenticity and Red Book. The bidding for the F40 will start at $2,750,000
1996 FERRARI F50

Next up is the gorgeous 1996 Ferrari F50 powered by a 4.7 L naturally aspirated V12 which was created based on the engine used in the Ferrari 641 Formula One car with the F50’s design being derived from the 1989 Ferrari Mythos concept car.

The particular car in this auction comes with a pristine history including a 13-year ownership by a Monaco-based collector and maintenance by a seasoned Ferrari specialist garage. Bidding for this car will be starting at $3,800,000.
2003 FERRARI ENZO

Another gorgeous car in the Big Five collection is the Ferrari Enzo. Named after the company’s founder – Enzo Ferrari, this gorgeous supercar was created using some of the most advanced F1 technology available to Ferrari at the time including a carbon-fiber body, F1-style transmission, ceramic composite disc brakes, as well as technologies Ferrari couldn’t use in their F1 car such as active aerodynamics.

This particular car was the first Enzo in North America, making its debut via Ferrari at the 2003 Cavallino Classic, and has had only three owners from new with 5,349 miles on the clock. Bidding will be starting at $3,750,000.
2015 FERRARI LAFERRARI

The 2015 Ferrari LaFerrari is the last car of the collection and comes in a gorgeous Rosso Corsa colourway with a luxurious Pelle Neri Leather interior. In their classic ode to F1, Ferrari LaFerrari is equipped with an F1-derived hybrid 6.3 L engine producing 950 hp.

With just two owners from new, this particular example had only driven 1,766 miles, with the bidding starting at $3,850,000
Auctions are being held through RM Sotheby’s as part of the Dare to Dream Collection, with prospective owners looking to part with around $20,000,000 if they want to acquire the whole Big Five collection which of course is extremely unlikely with the attention this auction is expected to bring.
