Ford has started taking orders for the new 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R. The truck will be the most powerful combustion-engined truck that Ford currently produces, making 700 horsepower and over 640 lb-ft of torque.
The new F-150 Raptor R will be powered by a 5.2 litre supercharged V8 based on the naturally aspirated Voodoo engine from the Shelby GT350. In addition, the F-150 will also feature a 2.65-litre supercharger, producing an insane 12 pounds per square inch of boost.
The Raptor R will also come with long-travel suspension with FOX Live Valve shocks designed to take full advantage of the truck’s V8 powerplant, 37-inch tires and increased ground clearance to ensure that the 2023 Ford F-150 Raptor R is capable of handling most terrains out there.
Like the other trucks in the Raptor family, Raptor R comes standard with a wide range of tech to improve the driver’s off-roading experience including Trail Turn Assist, Ford Trail Control technology, and a 1-Pedal drive system which allows the driver to control the acceleration and braking of the truck with one pedal, which can be particularly useful for rock crawling according to Ford.
The interior features Recaro seats as standard with a combination of black leather and Alcantara suede throughout. The raptor also features genuine carbon fibre parts throughout the interior including the doors, media bin door and instrument panel.
When it comes to connectivity, the Ford F-150 Raptor R will come with a 12-inch touch screen as standard with features with Apple CarPlay, as well as Android Auto compatibility. The Raptor R will also have the Ford Power-Up feature allowing Ford to update the software of their trucks remotely.
2023 F-150 Raptor R is available to order today with eight colour options available for customers, including new Avalanche and Azure Gray Tri-Coat exterior paint. Ford has stated that production will start in late 2022.
