Porsche sub-brand Tequipment have recently released a $5000 rooftop tent targeted at their most adventurous customers. Tequipment have long been responsible for releasing products designed to enhance the Porsche driving experience including exhaust systems, custom car seats and much more.
While most products that Tequipment produce are made for the track, their most recent creation is focused on a much more slow-paced activity. The camping rooftop tent is designed to better connect Porsche drivers with Mother Nature by allowing them to pitch up a tent right on their own rooftop.
Rooftop tents are an excellent choice for those who want all the comforts of a traditional tent, but also want increased protection from the elements thanks to the above-ground sleeping position. The ability to mount the tent on the roof of the vehicle also decreases any potential unwanted wilderness encounters some campers might be worried about.
Porsche rooftop tent is compatible with most Porsche models including the legendary 911, Macan, Cayenne, Panamera, and even the recent Porsche Taycan range, which means that it can even be fitted to cars in the Porsche range that one wouldn’t normally consider for offroad adventures.
The tent is equipped with two side windows to admire your surroundings and a rooftop window to allow the campers to admire the stars above them. It comes with 29 square feet of floor space, as well as an integrated mattress, insulated lining, and a rain cover to protect the occupants when the weather turns bad. While this does not compare to the luxury hotels some Porsche owners might be used to, it surely will be comfortable enough for those brave enough to take their Porsches into the wilderness.
The Porsche rooftop tent is expected to be released in November with a price tag of around $4,980, making it far from the most-expensive accessory Porsche owners can buy, but one that will make their sports car stand out anywhere they travel. Buyers will be able to pick between Black/Light Grey and Black/Dark Grey to match the spec of their vehicle. Porsche will albo be releasing an inner tent, as well as a heated blanket to match the tent.
