Shortly after BMW launched the facelifted BMW 3-Series, the famous BMW customising house Alpina unveiled the 2023 Alpina B3 which is the petrol powered 3 Series variant, as well as the diesel version named D3 S based on the updated BMW body styles.
As can be expected, the interior of the Alpina B3 is full of signature Alpina touches in shades of Blue and Green that have been used by the brand for the majority of their legendary models. All vehicles will also have individually numbered build plaques, as well as additional standard equipment.
For those looking for more customisation, Alpina also stated that “their master craftsmen can realise almost any bespoke interior design wishes” in order to allow potential owners a more unique design identity.
When it comes to tech, the new Alpina will have major improvements in terms of “digitalization and connectivity.” including the latest iteration of iDrive, as well as a curved 14.9-inch display that features the vehicles infotainment system and the instrument cluster.
Most petrolheads will also notice the absence of the humongous kidney grilles that all new M3s usually feature, with Alpina going with a more minimalistic, smaller style grille. This will come as a very welcome change for those BMW owners who were reluctant to order the performance version of the 3 series due to this particular design feature.
When it comes to power – the 2023 Alpina B3 features a plethora of performance upgrades including a new exhaust system and an upgraded engine management software providing the B3 with 488 horsepower (32 more than its predecessor), as well as 538 lb-ft of torque. This allows the Alpina B3 to accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 3.6 seconds and gives it a top speed of 190 miles per hour.
As most can imagine, the new Alpina isn’t cheap with the prices starting at £74,550 (around $95,000) for the Alpine B3 and £65,000 ($82,000) for the D3. Deliveries are expected in October.
